When in Rome...or at the Apiary. Don your Beekeeper suit and stay calm.

My interest in learning more about BEES, was recently peaked after watching CNN and Morgan Spurlock’s “Why Are All The Bees Dying?”

Bees all over the world are dying AND we really need them for pollination, not just for honey. Bees help all the other plants, fruits and flowers to grow.

I had the chance to learn more as part of a three day FAM trip (familiarization) for Bloggers during Tbex Europe 2015.

My visit to the Muria Apiary Centre d’Interpteació Apicola on the Costa Daurada, or Costa Dorada (you say potato) was enlightening, to say the least!

First we watched a video that explained everything in simple terms, so even a child could even understand it (good for me).

Then our guide Peter showed us around the museum and honey factory which has been in operation since the 1800’s. Afterwards, those of us who were brave enough, played BEEKEEPERS out in the field for a day…or maybe it was only an hour.

Watch the video here to see how we fared under the pressure of bees flying and landing all over us!

Stay Calm

Muria Apiary- Beekeeping

I caught some of the action with my Pivothead eyeglasses camera, which worked well under the beekeeper suit.

Would you ever want to do this? Let me know in the comments.
