Press Previews At CES
As an member of the press, in addition to being invited to some amazing pre-show press conferences, I am also privy to lots of great information, about the upcoming show and its vendors.
Starting in early November, vendors start reaching out, to over 4500 pre-registered bloggers, journalists, media analysts and newspeople, in order to entice them to make appointments, and to subsequently give them media coverage, of their new products and gadgets.
Personally, I’ve received hundred of emails, from exhibitors, who are eager to show me their stuff. I’ve even received a party invite…or two.
Last year, I even WON tickets via a Twitter contest to a Janelle Monet concert.
How To Get Media Attention At CES? Filet Mignon.
In addition to presenting their wares on the trade show floor, companies can get extra coverage, by presenting to select media, when they participate in mini-shows. These specialised events, are actually very extravagant press parties, where media moguls are plied with champagne and filet mignon, to ensure even more press coverage.
