City Harvest’s “An Evening Of Practical Magic” raises $2.2 million dollars, in their continued quest to help feed the hungry in NYC.
Newly appointed City Harvest Food Council Chairman, Geoffrey Zakarian, was on hand to host this year’s Spring fundraiser. “An Evening of Practical Magic”, brought out some of the best chefs, from the best restaurants in New York City.
This year’s City Harvest extravaganza, held at Cipriani, honored Benjamin Bram, Watermill Institutional Trading, LLC, as well as Eric Ripert, Maguy Le Coze, and their team at Le Bernadin, for their continued commitment, to serving those who are in need.
Both live and silent auctions were held at this year’s gala, where one very lucky, and generous couple, bid $6500 dollars for a box of Dominique Ansel‘s, COOKIE SHOTS.
Another notable auction item, “A FRENCH FEAST: Executive Chef of Le Bernardin, Eric Ripert preparing a delicious French dinner for 20 guests in your home,” sold for… DRUM ROLL PLEASE… $150,000 dollars, to 2 separate people.
If you do the math, you’ll figure out that super sweet, handsome, and generous, Chef Eric Ripert’s private dinners, raised $300,000 dollars for City Harvest. Some people really know how to give..and to live!Trophy Wives (I’m soooo kidding, but they are soooo gorgeous), Ottavia Bourdain, and Sandra Ripert, were both fabulous in City Harvest Green (coincidentally the color of money).
@SandraRipert was sexy in BCBG from @RentTheRunway and @OttaviaBourdain looked adorably hot, in a one shouldered number by @MichaelKors, that showed of her super strong, Mixed Martial Arts Fighter’s body.
Her husband, @Bourdain, told me that she “eats like a wolf”, consuming a diet of MOSTLY animal protein. I told him they should check out the steak at St. Anselm, which is my favorite Tomahawk Rib Eye in Brooklyn, if anyone cares to note.
On the Red Carpet, I caught up with Master Chefs, Anita Lo, Marc Murphy, Tom Valenti, Tracy Nieporant, Dominique Ansel, Eric Ripert, Ron Ben-Israel, Marcus Samuelsson, Geoffrey Zakarian, Anthony Bourdain, Tom Colicchio, Ben Pollinger, Tom Colicchio, Anne Burrell, as well as Miss USA 2014, Erin Brady, and Questlove.
Ok, I didn’t catch up with Questlove, although I really wanted to.. ….he ran by way too fast.
I did get to interview many of the Celebrity Chefs at City Harvest’s “An Evening of Practical Magic”.
Enjoy the video!
I take my hat and bike helmet off, to everyone who attended, participated, volunteered, and made this night special, to raise so much money to feed the hungry in NYC.
