The Power Of Periscope
So there I am, minding my own business, LIVESTREAMING on Periscope from the scene of a major accident in Tribeca, New York. I was busy sharing with my Periscope audience, all about the crane disaster that killed a man just a few blocks from my apartment.
SkyNews Calling From England!
The next thing I know, I get a TWEET from @SkyNews in London asking if I would be able to help them with the story, by going LIVE from the scene of the accident site to give commentary on the incident.
I think we all know the answer.
Please note this would be my FIRST time as a REAL REPORTER, and I faked my way through the whole thing. I was pretty damned good at it if I must say.
And. I Must.
In case you are unaware of this teeny small fact, I’ve been creating video content for my blog and YouTube channel, while believing in my head that I could actually be a real reporter some day.
I’ve been on Red Carpets, Conferences, Awards Shows, pretty much “I’m All Over The Place” and all the while hoping someone would see me and I would get a lucky break. This is NOT news to anyone who knows me.
Yes, I know I’m not young anymore, but I’m not going to let anything stop me….except for death. I’ll just keep on trying.
Dreams Do Come True.
Now if I could only make a living doing this……Hey AARP.…I’m available!
Thanks to SkyNews for trusting me with this awesome assignment. Would you want to do this?? Would you have the balls to go live on GLOBAL TELEVISION??
